A deleted scene from 'The Office' has now been unveiled as show leaves Netflix US

A previously unseen clip from The Office has been released, coinciding with the news that the hit sitcom has left the US version of Netflix.

The US version of the show, whose cast famously includes the likes of Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B. J. Novak, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson, James Spader, Ellie Kemper, and Catherine Tate, dominated Netflix’s ‘most popular’ section for years as it continued to provide light entertainment to millions of fans.

After unprecedented success, the US version of the hit Ricky Gervais show has left Netflix to find a new home through the streaming platform named ‘Peacock’. Now, a never-before-seen cold open from the series has been released in a comical mash-up with sci-fi film The Matrix.

The previously deleted scene, which was released on New Years Day, is made up of a five-minute clip which was originally pencilled in to feature as part of the 2013 series finale. The seen welcomes Jim (played by John Krasinski) and Jenna Fischer’s character Pam as they attempt to hatch a plan to prank Dwight. The audacious plot is an attempt to convince him that Dwight that he is actually living inside The Matrix.

While the show is leaving Netflix US, The Office will still be available to stream in the UK. For our US readers, the show will be made available through Peacock who have set up the ambitious platform which allows user to sign up without a payment method free access to a limited amount of content.

With that in mind, the first two seasons of The Office will be available for free but to gain access to all episodes users will need to sign up to Peacock Premium and the costs currently that at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

For now though, enjoy the previously unseen deleted clip.
